Ed Congreave is best known for quietly marshaling an arsenal of analogue gear within Oxford's 3rd
greatest band Foals (after Ride and Swervedriver, of course). In between sprinkling his unique
electronic magic on their upcoming 3rd album he's been honing his own production skills - the first fruits
of which we find here. ‘Heal’ wraps a plaintive male vocal around an infectious chord sequence,
perfectly poignant for late summer, and is now available as a free digital download via the DEEP SHIT
Facebook page.
‘Heal’ will also be released as a limited edition vinyl on 17th September via the new DEEP SHIT imprint,
an irregular 12” spin off from Ed and Friendly Fires' Jack Savidge's slightly less irregular DEEP SHIT
parties and NTS radio show.
As well as including a special vinyl-exclusive ‘redux’ version of the original, the package will also
feature a remix from dance music's top snooker player, A1 Bassline, who, coming off the back of 3
EPs on Claude Von Stroke's ever-wonderful Dirtybird, has also recently announced his own
SOURCEUNKNWN imprint. Here he turns in a killer late-night remix, replacing the original's melodicism
with a tough percussive energy.
